J/105s were introduced as a racing class for teams up to 6 or 7 people. They perform exceptionally well and you will be able to chase down and pass most other sailboats in the harbor.
And when you start sailing on larger boats like the J/105, you also have to get versed in maritime etiquette such as flying the ensign while you are underway! Be sure to take it back down again by sunset.
Schedule – Basic Coastal Cruising is offered on weekends.

The goal of this course is stretch our legs as much as possible within the harbor. If conditions permits, you will sail down the harbor and out under the Verrazano Narrow Bridge. Of you could go up north and sail under the George Washington Bridge. The direction you take will depend on the winds and currents each day.
